Hello my name is Brenda and I am a sugar addict.

I love sweets! Pastries, pies, cakes, chocolate, caramels… And I love baking!
After stumbling upon an article on Psychology Today’s website, I’ve had to rethink the amount of sugar consumption that I and my family have been guilty of indulging in. While I thought I had been fairly conscience of the health of my family I’m now convinced we seriously need to cut back on the sugar!
After celebrating a string of birthdays and having a great abundance of cake in our house for about four weeks straight I began to feel the effects on my mind and body. My clarity of mind was absent. I felt tired and run down and lacking in much needed energy. And I hated that feeling!
Since reading that article I have come across a number of other sources that are also reporting on the evils of sugar. 60 Minutes did a piece entitled, “Is Sugar Toxic?” It’s a little lengthy but worth the watch if you have a few minutes.
Even Hoda and Kathie Lee are getting in on the sugar talk!
I haven’t completely figured out what the answer is yet on how to curb all my cravings but I am officially declaring a war on the amount of sugar that my family and I take in! Wish me luck! I’m going to need it!!

Good luck! It is really hard today, sugar is hidden everywhere. I know you can do it.
Hi my name is Belinda. I am addicted to sugar. I did a diet study for KU about 3 years ago….no sugar-no salt. After 6 months without I felt great! I was exercising I had lost 35lbs. And since then have fallen off the wagon. I very much need to get back to doing that!
